PHOTOS: Frontierland and Adventureland Signs Have Been Removed From Magic Kingdom
Between the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Country Bear Musical Jamboree, as well as the closure of the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, 2024 was a year of change for Frontierland.
That trend continued early this year when Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed on January 6 for what is expected to be a year-long refurbishment. With the upcoming demolition of Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America, the Old West-themed land that has been a staple of the Magic Kingdom for over 50 years will soon be unrecognizable.
Frontierland Sign Removed From Entrance Archway
Against this backdrop of change, the Frontierland and Adventureland entrance signs from the archway near Pirates of the Caribbean have unceremoniously gone missing.

Both sides of the archway are now unmarked. Here is the view towards Adventureland.
And a look into Frontierland.
While it remains likely that Disney is simply refurbishing the entrance signs, there is also the chance that something bigger could be afoot.
Will Disney Change Frontierland’s Name?
With Frontierland set to radically change over the next couple of years, it is possible Disney will rename the land. We recently saw a similar situation play out with Disneyland’s Critter Country.
Any kind of larger change to Frontierland would be pure speculation at this point.
Nevertheless, it is worth watching the archway between Adventureland and Frontierland. Perhaps there is information to be gleaned.
