PHOTOS: Lunar New Year Booths AND Foods Have Started Trickling Into Disney California Adventure!
Yet another exciting food-filled event is preparing to hit the Disneyland Resort!
Of course, we’re talking about the Lunar New Year celebration, which will kick off in Disney California Adventure (DCA) next week with festive cuisine, décor, character appearances, and more! The park is already gearing up for the festivities, with some offerings making early appearances. Let’s check out the preparations taking place–and dig into some of the culinary creations!
Lunar New Year Celebration
DCA will be hosting its Lunar New Year celebration from January 17th through February 16th, with a soft opening of marketplace kiosks most likely occurring on January 16th. (Traditionally, food booths soft open the day before festivals and events begin in DCA.) While visiting the park today, we noticed some event décor was already in place!
The marketplace kiosks have appeared, including Bamboo Blessings…
…Red Dragon Spice Traders…
…Longevity Noodle Co….
…Wrapped with Love…
…Prosperity Bao & Buns…
…and Lucky 8 Lantern.

Some quick-service locations and restaurants around the park also offer special dishes for the Lunar New Year celebration! Some of these locations release their special items even earlier than the kiosks’ soft openings–which was the case for Lamplight Lounge. Let’s head over to try some of their Lunar New Year dishes!
Lamplight Lounge
We tried some of Lamplight Lounge’s new Lunar New Year offerings! First up was the Vietnamese BBQ Pork Chop, which comes with spicy garlic noodles and chile-marinated cucumbers. (This offering will last through April 27th–longer than the celebration.) We grabbed it for $30.
The garlic noodles were savory with a mild level of spice. The chile-marinated cucumbers had a stronger kick than the noodles, which our heat-loving tastebuds appreciated.
For dessert, we grabbed the new Green Tea Donuts for $11, which will also be around longer than the festival–through February 27th. The donuts are served warm with crushed Oreos and a matcha glaze. The matcha packed a punch of flavor, without being overpoweringly rich. We really enjoyed these!
Overall, these are solid Lunar New Year items to try during the celebration–we recommend giving them a go during your visit!
