New Menu at The Cake Bake Shop
The Cake Bake Shop launched a new menu today, which included new bakery items!
The location welcomed back the Millionaire Cake…
…and Mint Chocolate Cake…
…and debuted the new Coconut Cake…
…and Cookie Dough Cake!
New lavender and lemon macarons also debuted today–but we’re not here for them. We’re here for cake!
New Cake Review
We’ll start with the Cookie Dough Cake, which is three layers of fluffy vanilla cake with Callebaut miniature chocolate chips, filled with Callebaut Belgian chocolate ganache and chocolate chip cookie dough, topped with vanilla buttercream and miniature Fleur de Sel chocolate chip cookies. (Was that a mouthful or what?) You can grab it for $22.99.
Spoiler: of the two new cakes, this is our favorite. We’re glad it’s been added to the menu.
The light and moist vanilla cake was paired perfectly with the not-too-sweet layers of cookie dough and rich ganache, and the vanilla buttercream.
We loved the texture provided by the crunch of mini Callebaut chocolate chips. The cake was finished perfectly with the soft and chewy salted chocolate chip cookie. If you’re not a fan of overpoweringly sweet treats (you’re not alone), you’ll enjoy this one!
The Coconut Cake is six layers of coconut cake filled with freshly shaved coconut and coconut cream, topped with coconut buttercream frosting and freshly shaved coconut. This is also $22.99.
This cake is delicate and sweet, but we acknowledge that not everyone loves coconut. And if that’s you, we’d recommend skipping this cake as it’s extremely coconut-forward. (We know that may seem obvious, but some coconut treats are actually pretty subtle–this one is not.)
It’s a really gorgeous cake, and the taste matches with classic, fluffy coconut cake layers that are slightly overpowered by the coconut flakes. Basically, you’ll either really love or really dislike this one, and it all hinges upon whether or not you’re a fan of coconut.
