Disney Files a New Permit For Test Track as Work on the Attraction’s Overhaul Continues
As construction on the new version of Test Track continues at EPCOT, Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a new permit for the attraction.
Originally announced at last year’s Destination D23, the third version of Test Track will draw inspiration from World of Motion and celebrate humanity’s “enduring drive” towards a brighter tomorrow.
“New show scenes will be added showcasing technological advances and how our lifestyles and relationships to mobility connect everyone. Enjoy a joy ride through scenes focusing on onboard technology, customization, and personalization,” Disney explained at the time.
The attraction officially closed on June 17 and has been surrounded by construction walls ever since.
What the New Permit Entails
The new permit filed by Walt Disney Imagineering calls for “install signage” and has been assigned to Design Communications Ltd., a contractor often used by Disney for attraction signage.
The permit was filed on January 6.
By the look of things, Test Track will debut with an all-new look!
When Will Test Track Reopen?
While we don’t have an exact reopening date for Test Track, the attraction is expected to open in late summer 2025.
“You might even see cars returning to the track (for testing…at Test Track…nice) with their new look early in the year!” Disney teased last month.
I, for one, can’t wait!
