Bob Iger Weighs in on the California Wildfires — “My Heart Goes Out to Everyone”
As wildfires continue to ravage parts of Southern California, residents, businesses, and even theme parks are bracing for the worst.
Since the fires began, nearly 1,000 structures have been destroyed, 70,000 residents have been ordered to evacuate, and five fatalities have been reported. In total, the Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst fires have burned more than 17,500 acres.
Even as Universal Studios closed today, Disneyland remained open. Nevertheless, the fires have tragically impacted thousands of Cast Members, guests, and Disney employees.
Bob Iger Shares His Condolences
After witnessing the destruction firsthand, Disney CEO Bob Iger took to Instagram to offer his condolences to those who had been devastated.
“I drove through Pacific Palisades today and witnessed firsthand the devastation caused by the fires. My heart goes out to everyone who has lost homes and businesses, and to all whose lives have been impacted, including thousands of Disney employees,” captioned the post.
