Wait Times Surprisingly High in Disney World After the Holidays
The holiday season is officially over in Disney World, which usually means the large crowds are gone as well. But, that’s not always the case!
This upcoming weekend is the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, which draws in a lot of people, but are all of these people already in the parks? Let’s take a look at the wait times to see!
High Wait Times in Disney World
Looking around Disney World today, I noticed that the wait times are higher than expected for the week after New Year’s. They’re definitely not as high as during the holidays, but still surprisingly high nonetheless when many consider January to be the “slow” time in Disney World.
Let’s take a look at what the wait times were like this afternoon.
Magic Kingdom
The highest wait time in Magic Kingdom was TRON Lightcycle / Run at 115 minutes!
After that, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had an 85-minute wait, Peter Pan’s Flight had a 65-minute wait, and Space Mountain had a 60-minute wait.
Some other notably high wait times included The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at 50 minutes, Pirates of the Caribbean at 45 minutes, “it’s a small world” at 45 minutes, and The Barnstormer at 45 minutes.
EPCOT
Over at EPCOT, the highest wait time I saw was for Frozen Ever After at a whopping 85-minute wait.
Soarin’ also had a wait of 65 minutes and the wait time to Meet Anna and Elsa at Royal Sommerhus was 45 minutes. I would’ve expected to see a high wait time at Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure as well, but it was temporarily closed this afternoon.
Hollywood Studios
Hollywood Studios had some high wait times as well. The highest was Slinky Dog Dash in Toy Story Land with a 90-minute wait.
Rise of the Resistance had an 80-minute wait, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster had a 70-minute wait, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway had a 60-minute wait, and both Tower of Terror and Toy Story Mania had 55-minute waits.
Animal Kingdom
The highest wait time in Animal Kingdom this afternoon was a tie between Expedition Everest and Flight of Passage, which both had 70-minute wait times!
Then, Na’vi River Journey had a 55-minute wait. The rest of the rides weren’t super high, but the park does close at 6PM today.
