‘The Acolyte’ Receives Outstanding Original Score Nomination at the NAACP Image Awards
Star Wars: The Acolyte may not have been the success many fans hoped for, but the series did manage to expand the Star Wars universe in multiple ways.
Set 100 years before the events of The Phantom Menace, The Acolyte introduced the audiences to the era of the High Republic, when the galaxy was at peace, and the Jedi were at the height of their power.
Over the course of its eight-episode first season, The Acolyte explored the thin line between the Light and Dark side of the force, introducing the audience to Osha and Mae, twin sisters whose lives are changed forever when the Jedi arrive on their home planet of Brendok.

Through a series of events and flashbacks, the twins’ mysterious birth through the force comes to light, and Jedi’s dark secrets are revealed.
‘The Acolyte’ Was Cancelled After One Season
Unfortunately for fans, The Acolyte was canceled after just one season. With a $180 million budget and middling ratings, Disney quickly decided to pull the plug on the show.

While it doesn’t look like the story of Mae, Osha, and Quimir will continue, The Acolyte got some good news before it was relegated to the Star Wars dustbin.
Recognition For ‘The Acolyte’
The Acolyte managed to pick up a nomination for Outstanding Original Score for Television/Motion Picture at the NAACP Image Awards.
News of the nomination even prompted The Acolyte X account to post for the first time since July 2024.

As music played a significant role in The Acolyte’s production, it is nice to see the show recognized for its score. In many ways, it is a fitting end for a unique chapter in Star Wars history.
