New Designs Celebrate 25th Anniversary of Pin Trading at Disney World
Can you believe that, this year, collectors are commemorating 25 years of official Disney Pin Trading?
That’s two and a half decades of the most beloved merchandise hobby in the Disney Parks. Sounds to us like a celebration is in order!
Of course, there’s absolutely no better way to mark a special pin anniversary than with some special anniversary pins.
So, when our MickeyBlog reporters spotted a fun new collection of adorable commemorative designs over at EPCOT this morning, we knew we simply had to show you!
Make room in your binders and on your lanyards, fellow traders, and let’s go check them out!
Florida License Plate Pin
The first pin in the collection we found is truly adorable — it’s this license plate-inspired design!
Marked to the state of Florida, with Hidden Mickeys dotting each corner, the registration reads “I TRADE PINS.” I don’t know about you, but if this existed as a real license plate I’d certainly want it for my car!
Mickey Anniversary Pin
The second design offers the most beautiful and classic nod to the anniversary, featuring a smartly-dressed Mickey posing in front of the 25th anniversary logo.
If you look closely, you’ll see Mickey is even wearing his own pin trading lanyard in the design too — how fun!
Character Pin Trading Board Pins
The next four pins we have to show you each feature a classic Disney character holding up a pin trading board. Each design takes inspiration from the fabulous Cast Members at pin trading points across the parks, where guests can ask to see the tradable pins on offer and swap them from their own collection.
We can’t believe this beloved activity has been going on for 25 years!
Included in this collection include Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Chip & Dale each holding up the iconic cork boards.
Looking closely, we can see each board features a tiny “25” pin, perfect for commemorating this extra-special anniversary!
We love the tiny “pin-within-a-pin” designs on each board. Donald has a Mickey balloon pin on his, while Goofy has an adorable Simba design which we love!
If you’re looking to get your hands on any of these new anniversary pin designs, be sure to head on over to EPCOT. Our MickeyBloggers found these over in the Pin Traders store (where else?), where they cost $14.99 each.
We can’t forget Stitch too!
If you are looking to add even more pins to your collection, we’d also recommend you check out this colorful range of 2025 pins while you’re there, too!
Happy Disney Pin Trading everyone! Here’s to another 25 years!
