The Walt Disney Company Brings Home Six Golden Globe Awards as ‘Shogun’ Shines
The 2025 Golden Globes were held last night in Los Angeles, California, celebrating another year of Hollywood magic.
In what has become a familiar refrain, The Walt Disney Company had another big evening, taking home six Golden Globe Awards across its content brands in studios.
In a year when Disney dominated the box office, it was the studio’s streaming shows that brought home the hardware. Here is a recap.
FX Leads the Way
Propelled by Shogun and The Bear, FX broke its previous record for Golden Globe wins, accounting for five of Disney’s six wins.
Leading the way was Shogun, which won every category for which it was nominated. In total, the series won four Golden Globes, including:
- Best Television Series – Drama
- Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama – Hiroyuki Sanada
- Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama – Anna Sawai
- Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role on Television – Tadanobu Asano.
Other Winners
FX’s The Bear also managed a win of its own, with Jeremy Allen White taking home the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
Finally, Kieran Culkin delivered Disney’s sixth Golden Globe of the Night, winning Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture for his performance in Searchlight’s A Real Pain.
Between its hit streaming series, box office blockbuster, and award-season darlings, Disney had a triumphant 2024. Hopefully, the studio will be able to expand on that success in 2025.
