Important! Disney’s Blizzard Beach Will Be Closed This Weekend!
We’ve got an important update for guests visiting Walt Disney World this week, as it looks like an entire park will be closed for the day this weekend.
Keep reading, folks, and let’s see what’s affected, and why!
Disney’s Blizzard Beach
Yep, as you can probably tell from the title of this article, Disney’s Blizzard Beach will be closed this weekend.
Looking at the Walt Disney World calendar for the week, we can see that the frosty waterpark has been marked as “closed” for the whole of this Saturday, January 4th.
Why? Well, because of the weather!
Despite the waterpark being themed to a fabulous ski resort and winter sports complex, there’s just no point opening the park when the temperatures are too low for guests to enjoy safely and comfortably. On Saturday in Orlando, Weather.com currently predicts a high of 63 degrees and a low of 44 degrees Fahrenheit.
This isn’t the first time that a Disney waterpark has had to close due to weather, and we’re sure it won’t be the last, unfortunately!
However, the calendar is saying that Blizzard Beach will be back open as usual on Sunday, so hopefully this cold snap won’t last too long.
A Splash-Free Saturday
It’s also worth noting that Disney’s other waterpark — Typhoon Lagoon — is also currently closed for its annual refurbishment.
So, if you were hoping to make a splash somewhere this Saturday, you might have to reconsider your plans! If it helps, you can read our full guide to the best pools across Walt Disney World right here instead!

Hopefully, we’ll snap out of this cold season soon, and ski season can once again resume at Disney’s Blizzard Beach.
But, until then, stay safe and warm out there everyone!
