Port Canaveral Has Been Voted the Best Homeport of 2024
The 2024 Cruise Hive Awards have been revealed, and once again, Port Canaveral was the big winner!
As voted on by the website’s readers, Port Canaveral was named the best US cruise homeport. 35% of voters chose Port Canaveral as their port of choice, a new record.

Port Canaveral easily beat out PortMiami (16%) and Port Everglades (10%) to reach the top spot. According to the outlet, Port Canaveral has come out on top every year that US cruise homeports have been voted on.
Three Disney Cruise Line Ships Call Port Canaveral Home
For Disney fans, Port Canaveral is synonymous with the Disney Cruise Line as the Disney Wish, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Treasure call the port home.

The Port Continues to Expand
In recent years, the port has continued to explode in popularity. Last year, Canaveral earned the title of the world’s busiest port, besting Port Miami. Subsequently, Murray announced that a new terminal will open in 2026, adding even more capacity to the port.

“Cruise continues to be a significant segment of our business portfolio with some of the newest and largest ships in the world based at Port Canaveral. This speaks volumes to the confidence our cruise partners have in our ability to consistently deliver exceptional results for their guests,” Murray said during the 2024 State of the Port Address.
