Tonight, party-goers will enjoy ALL kinds of magical New Year experiences, including the Fantasy in the Sky fireworks at Magic Kingdom, high-energy dance parties at EPCOT, and festive entertainment at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

As Disney World gears up for one SPECTACULAR evening, our MickeyBlog team is stopping by each of Disney World’s monorail resorts to check out all the happenings!

Our first stop was Disney’s Contemporary Resort, home to California Grill’s $799 New Year’s Eve dinner.

Here’s a look at the resort’s New Year’s Eve activities, which include a New Year’s Eve Party with face painting, a DJ party, and more.

Next, we popped over to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, where preparations are already well underway!

Even during Disney World’s “calmest” times, Disney’s Polynesian Resort attracts PLENTY of crowds. With its proximity to Magic Kingdom and that peaceful island vibe, it’s a great place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of the parks.
Of course, the resort is even MORE popular in the evenings, when guests and visitors alike can grab a DOLE Whip and catch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach!

But if you’re hoping to watch Fantasy in the Sky from this prime viewing spot tonight, be aware that you’ll need a room reservation at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

To keep crowds manageable, beach access for New Year’s Eve is limited to resort guests ONLY after 5pm.
Guests planning to use the beach tonight should stop by the front desk to pick up a wristband BEFORE 5PM. This will allow you to access the area later this evening.

Furthermore, Disney is making a concerted effort to keep crowds to a minimum today.
The walkway will close to non-Polynesian guests beginning at 5pm, and for guests checking out today, the pool is only available until 3pm.

Boat transportation is also closed for the day, and you’ll find plenty of signage and barriers around the resort. Lifeguards are also on hand to ensure that ONLY resort guests can enter the pool area.

Of course, if you ARE staying on-property tonight, you can enjoy the resort’s New Year’s Eve activities! These include a New Year’s Eve Pool Party, Bingo, and the Electrical Water Pageant Memory Game.

Finally, we stopped by Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Like Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the Grand Floridian boasts FABULOUS views of Magic Kingdom’s fireworks.

As a result, the resort can sometimes experience high demand… ESPECIALLY on New Year’s Eve!

As a result, beach and pool access at the resort will require a wristband. Lifeguards are currently stationed at each pool entrance to check wristbands and ensure that anyone entering is a registered resort guest.

For resort guests, wristband distribution is located in the main lobby. You’ll find it to the left of the check-in desk behind the staircase. You can get your wristbands anytime until 10pm tonight.

Here’s a look at the resort’s New Year’s Eve activities. Guests can enjoy lawn games, pool parties, crafts, and more. There’s even a kiddie party that starts at 5:15pm!
