A Warning to Guests Staying at Disney’s Pop Century Resort in 2025
As we turn the page on 2024 and celebrate the New Year, it is officially time to turn our attention to 2025.
If you are one of the millions of guests with a Walt Disney World vacation planned for next year, we here at MickeyBlog want to ensure you are aware of all the happenings across the resort.
By in large, 2025 appears to be a light year in terms of construction and disruptions. However, there are a few significant projects that you will want to be aware of.
There Will Be Major Refurbishments in 2025
Throughout next year, Disney’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be closed, Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama will go extinct. Additionally, we could see construction begin on the reimagined Frontierland at Magic Kingdom and Monstropolis at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
While these projects should have a minimal impact on guest’s vacations, it is important to be aware.
With that in mind, I also want to remind you that Disney’s Pop Century Resort will begin a year-long renovation project early next year.
Pop Century’s Year-Long Refurb
Originally announced in November, the Pop Century refurbishment is expected to take place between March 2025 and February 2026.
At this time, there is no indication that the refurbishment will be overly drastic. Additionally, all resort amenities are expected to stay open. Instead, it looks like Disney will simply be refreshing the resort’s rooms!
The last time Pop Century got a room refresh was in 2017, so the resort is due. Traditionally, Disney refurbishes a resort’s rooms every seven years.
As we have this year at Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter Resort, the room renovations have minimal impact on most stays. They can, however, be noisy. So, if you plan on staying at Pop Century in 2025, be aware!
