What You Need to Know To Make Your Walt Disney World Vacation Affordable
Every time Walt Disney World raises its ticket prices, detractors and pundits warn that the company is pricing out its everyday guests.
For Disney veterans, however, there is still a ton of value to be found in a Walt Disney World vacation. As explained in a new CNN article, you simply need to know where to look.
Since the return of Bob Iger as CEO of The Walt Disney Company in November 2022, Disney has made numerous changes to the park experience that were meant to simplify the process and make things more afforadable.
Recent Changes Have Improved the Guest Experience
Over the last two years, we have seen the return of Annual Pass sales, the elimination of park reservations for most guests, the restoration of free parking, and numerous travel deals meant to entice guests to visit Disney World during its slower seasons.

Other changes, including the implementation of the Lightning Lane system and the continued improvements on the My Disney Experience app, were designed to make Walt Disney World vacations as easy as possible.

Lightning Lane
“They’ve made a lot of enhancements, and that’s helped us,” our very own Greg Antonelle, owner of MickeyTravels, explained to CNN.
“You don’t necessarily need to be a Disney expert to figure some of these things out. They’ve tried to make the in-park experience straightforward for the guest.”
The Best Time to Visit
Through room discounts, free dining plans, and the utilization of dynamic pricing, it is easier than ever to save money on your Walt Disney World vacation. To do so, however, you have to know when to visit.

Tree of Life
Traditionally, the slowest (and cheapest) times of the year to visit Disney World are between January and March or September through early October.
While Disney often gets criticized for its premium offerings, such as the Lightning Lane Premier Pass, there is clearly a market for these luxury perks. Whether guests stay at a Disney Deluxe Resort or one of Disney’s All-Star Resorts, the magic, moments, and memories are the same.

“We have some clients who stay at the club level at the Grand Floridian luxury resort for two weeks. And we have guests who stay at a value resort — and those people have just as much fun and make as many memories,” Antonelle said. “Disney gets some flak for their pricing, but there’s a lot of value you can get at Disney if you go at the right time.”
Bang For Your Buck
Earlier this year, many raised their eyebrows when Disneyland announced its latest price increase. While some guests may get sticker shock from seeing their park ticket cost $200, visitors are getting a lot of bang for their buck compared to other entertainment offerings.

EPCOT
“You can go to a sporting event or Taylor Swift concert and spend a lot of money for two hours,” Antonelle said. “When you’re at Disney you can be in the park for 15 hours — and in that 15 hours, you can see a concert, play minigolf, you can see a parade and fireworks. … People just look at price, but not the value.”
