Happy New Year! See the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks in Magic Kingdom
In case you didn’t know, Disney World celebrates the New Year exactly as you’d expect.

On December 30th and 31st, Disney brings back the much-loved Fantasy in The Sky fireworks show to Magic Kingdom, illuminating the night behind Cinderella Castle. We’re visiting the park today to check out the show, so come along with us!

You can catch the Fantasy in The Sky Fireworks at 6:30PM and 11:50PM on December 30th and 31st.
Note that Magic Kingdom park reservations are sold out on those dates, and historically the park has also closed later in the day due to high capacity. Make sure you double-check your park reservation or date-based ticket, and if you plan to Park Hop, keep in mind that you may be turned away!
We arrived around 5PM for the 6:30PM show on December 30th, and crowds were starting to take up spots.

In fact, around 6PM we received this message through the My Disney Experience app, notifying us that viewing spots in Frontierland and Tomorrowland were unavailable.

The show began promptly at 6:30PM!

It lasts approximately 10 minutes, filled with fireworks lighting up the night sky.

It may be December 30th, but we were excited to kick off the New Year a day early in Magic Kingdom.
