Led By Golden Oak, Central Florida Sees a Boom in Luxury Home Sales
Central Florida had a record-setting year in luxury home sales, with more homes sold for over $10 million than at any time in the region’s history.
This year, eleven homes sold for over $10 million, compared to only two homes sold for that much last year.

The high-end home market was dominated by Disney’s Golden Oak community.
What Is Golden Oak?
As a quick reminder, Golden Oak is a luxury residential community located within Walt Disney World. Designed by Walt Disney Imagineering, residents of Golden Oak get exclusive perks, including access to Disney Parks, concierge services, and numerous amenities.

Typically, homes in Golden Oak cost between $3 and 20 million dollars.
Within Golden Oak are the Four Seasons Private Residences. Comprised of just 31 homes, this community also has access to the Four Seasons Resort, which features amenities, including a golf course, spa, and waterpark.
Notably, the five most expensive homes sold in Central Florida were all located within the Four Seasons Private Residences.
“There’s a lot of Disney fans and Four Seasons fans, and if you want to be in that neighborhood or be around those amenities, there is a pretty limited supply of what’s available. That’s what’s made [Golden Oak] so popular, and that’s why prices have appreciated so much,” Rial Jones, President at Jones Clayton Construction, told Growth Spotter.
Low Supply and High Demand
With such a limited supply of houses within Golden Oak, buyers pay a premium to live within the magic.
The most expensive home sold this year is located at 10242 Summer Meadow Way. Previously owned by Hilda Bacardi, the Bacardi rum heir, it sold for $15.75 million in September.

The former Bacardi home was relisted by Ken Pozek of The Pozek Group a month later.
“It is one of the largest properties on the market at over 9,000 square feet. It’s got three themed rooms but the rest of it is this classic Italian architecture on the exterior and the interior is very traditional,” he said.

“We lowered the price compared to what [the last buyer] bought it for. It’s currently priced right I think, based on the other sales that have happened in the Four Seasons.”
Other Luxury Homes Sold in Central Florida
While five of the top ten most expensive homes purchased in Central Florida are located in Golden Oak, the area also saw luxury homes sell in Winter Park, Windermere, and along the lakefront.
