Try These Attractions to Escape the Holiday Crowds at Disney World
Visiting Walt Disney World during the holidays is truly a magical experience! Plenty of families and Disney fans visit the parks this time of year, creating heavy crowds and long lines.
Even though it is crowded, you want to make the most of your time and experience some fun attractions.
Utilizing Lightning Lane and taking advantage of Rope Drop is a great way to ensure you get on your favorite attractions, but sometimes, you just want to escape the crowds and hop on a ride quickly.
We’ve got you covered! Check out these fun Disney World attractions that (typically) have short wait times.
Alien Swirling Saucers- Hollywood Studios
This spinning ride in Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios is simple yet fun—and typically not a long wait.
Enjoy an “out-of-this-world” ride as you get “dragged in circles” by the smiling green aliens.
Gran Fiesta Tour–EPCOT
Enjoy this beloved attraction before it closes for refurbishment in January 2025! Head to the Mexico Pavilion and cruise down the Rio Grande on this gentle boat ride in World Showcase.
It’s cool, it’s dark, it’s usually quiet—and it’s a constantly moving ride! It is the perfect way to unwind and enjoy a family-friendly ride. And the lines are not usually too long!
Inspired by the 1944 Disney film The Three Caballeros, keep your eye open for Panchito and José Carioca as they search for Donald Duck in this fun adventure.
Living with the Land– EPCOT
This is one of the most underrated experiences at EPCOT and a classic Disney attraction with fairly short lines.
Relax on a slow-moving boat ride that takes you on a tour highlighting Walt Disney World horticulturalists and their use of innovative growing techniques and vegetation.
Gentle movement, lulling music, and plenty of greenery surround you in this educational and fun boat ride. Now is a great time to experience the attraction as it transforms into Living with the Land -Glimmering Greenhouses for the season.
Mickey’s PhilharMagic–Magic Kingdom
Technically not a ride, but a great experience nonetheless! This 12-minute 3-D adventure is a great place to escape crowds and recharge when visiting Fantasyland.
Grab the family and take a seat in this dimly lit and cozy concert hall. You will love the chance to unwind in front of a 50-foot-wide, 180-degree seamless wraparound screen.
This amazing experience is one of my favorites! You can sit back and enjoy classic Disney songs, fun special effects, and iconic animated moments without waiting too long in a line.
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel– Magic Kingdom
Is there anything more nostalgic than this classic carrousel? And for whatever reason, the lines are typically short, even during the holidays.
Embody Cinderella as you seamlessly spin around this magical attraction on your favorite horse.
Whimsical music, colorful stallions, and Cinderella Castle looming elegantly behind you. This is a perfectly royal experience.
Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover– Magic Kingdom
This is always my “I need a break” ride at Magic Kingdom.
Whether you need to destress, escape the crowds, or just sit down and experience a ride, the PeopleMover is perfect and usually not too crowded.
Experience a leisurely, 10-minute tour of Tomorrowland that is quiet, calming, and perfect for all ages. This mass transit system of the future is also an excellent spot for a mid-day Magic Kingdom break.
Triceratops Spin– Animal Kingdom
Get ready to soar and spin as we head over to DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
This is a great family-friendly option. Smiling, friendly dinosaurs twirl and spin you around on a tin-toy top at this delightful carnival-inspired attraction. It’s so much fun and not a long wait time.
Turtle Talk with Crush– EPCOT
Looking for a ride that everyone can enjoy together at EPCOT? Then head to the Seas pavilion for this fan-fave.
Guests get to have fun and interact with Crush as he cruises down the East Australian Current.
The fun-loving turtle from Finding Nemo answers crowd questions, tells jokes and interacts with everyone in the theater. So much fun!
Be sure to check out these great attractions, and (hopefully) you won’t wait too long in line. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
