Christmas 2024: Long Lines and Heavy Crowds Greet Guests at Magic Kingdom Today
With just two days to go until Christmas and New Year’s right around the corner, Walt Disney World is bracing for its busiest weeks of the year.
While the holiday season at Walt Disney World is a magical time full of festive fun, merry entertainment, and sweet treats, it is also the resort’s busiest time of year.

With schools now out for winter break, millions of families are making the pilgrimage to Orlando for some fun in the sun.
The Scene From Magic Kingdom
Expecting long lines and large crowds, we headed to Magic Kingdom at 8 AM this morning and found a long line for the Monorail at the Transportation & Ticket Center.

We were surprised to see the park’s entrance was not overly crowded.
By the time we reached Main Street, however, we could see that the park was busy.
Guests waiting to rope drop their favorite attractions meandered through the land.
Here is the scene from Adventureland, where guests waited with anticipation.
Here is the scene outside Liberty Square.
Now home to two E-ticket attractions, the crowd outside of Tomorrowland was also large.
Here is another look.
Just a half hour after the park opened, lines for the Magic Kingdom’s marquee attractions were already getting long.
Already TRON Lightcycle/Run, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Meet Mickey at Town Square Theater have waits over 40 minutes.
Make Sure You Plan Ahead
So, if you plan on visiting the park today, be ready! You may have to wait a little longer than usual.
