Zootopia Celebrates One Year at Shanghai Disney Resort
Wow! Zootopia has already been open for one year at Shanghai Disney Resort. The amazing treats, immersive attractions, and colorful merchandise have inspired guests and fans from all over the world who have brought this amazing land to life.
To celebrate this special occasion, Disney shared just how important and special the Zootopia fans are and how much they impacted this new land!
Fans Love Zootopia: Hot Pursuit
This new attraction featured the resort’s most advanced Audio-Animatronics figures, plus the first-ever trackless ride system in Mainland China.
Cruisers have accumulated a total mileage of approximately 220,000 miles. That is the equivalent of driving around the Earth’s equator almost 8 times!
Plenty of Cool Details
Disney fans already know how important the details are, and every corner of Zootopia is packed with them.
There’s a giraffe running on a treadmill who ran over 26,000 miles, and the innovative “hyper-tubes” the Lemmings use to get to work have commuted over 2.1 million passengers!
Top Three Treats
There is no shortage of amazing treats and eats in Zootopia, and fans had a few favorites, including the Disney Zootopia Pawpsicle, the Corn-Flavored Popcorn, and the mini-size The Big Donut.
The total number of donuts sold in the last year would be approximately eight times the height of Shanghai Tower, the tallest building in Shanghai.
Wild About Merchandise
The development teams pulled out all of the stops with colorful new merchandise and fun souvenirs that fans loved.
Nearly 260 Zootopia-themed items debuted, and the most popular were the Judy Bucket Hat, Judy & Nick Walkie Talkie, Judy Hood Blanket, Nick Hood Blanket, and Nick Fluffy Hat.
Celebrate Holiday Fun
In addition to celebrating one year, Zootopia celebrated other “firsts” with fans during the year.
From the Disney Zootopia Yoga Show in the spring to “Howl-o-Ween” in the fall and the Winter Snow-Ball Festival, Zootopia celebrated different seasons and holidays throughout the entire year.

Zootopia became an amazing and immersive place where fans could meet their favorite characters, experience Zootopia: Hot Pursuit, chat with the residents from their windows, and more.
Through continuous innovation and creativity, Zootopia is challenging industry standards and has been recognized with the following awards:
- 2025 Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement – Theme Park Land by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA)
