The Disneyland Railroad Is Closing For Another Refurbishment
As crazy as it sounds, Disneyland Resort will officially be celebrating its 70th anniversary next year.
To commemorate seven decades of making magic, The Happiest Place on Earth will kick off its 70th Celebration on May 16, 2025, bringing guests exciting new entertainment, special decor, and a ton of new merchandise!

In preparation for the big anniversary, however, an iconic Disneyland attraction will close early next year.
The Disneyland Railroad Is Closing Again
On January 13, 2025, the Disneyland Railroad will again close for refurbishment.
If you have been following along here at MickeyBlog, you know that 2024 was a difficult year for the Disneyland Railroad. In January, the New Orleans Square railroad station closed to facilitate the construction of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the refurbishment of the Haunted Mansion.

Subsequently, on August 5, the rest of the Disneyland Railroad closed for a more general refurbishment that included track replacement.
While the iconic attraction reopened on October 25, its return will be short-lived.

At the conclusion of the holiday season, the Disneyland Railroad will once again close.
When Will the Railroad Reopen?
According to Disneyland, the closure will allow Imagineers to finish the railroad track replacement that began earlier this year. The plan, then, is to have the attraction back and better than ever by the time the Disneyland 70th Celebration kicks off on May 16.

So, while guests visiting Disneyland early next year will have to do without the Disneyland Railroad, it shouldn’t be long until the trains return in all their glory.
