Kathryn Hahn Responds To Being Fan-Casted in Disney’s Live-Action ‘Tangled’
When the news broke last week that Disney was developing a live-action Tangled, the internet was set ablaze with fans sharing their dream castings for the film’s biggest roles.
While multiple names, including Sabrina Carpenter and Meg Donnelly, were thrown on for Rapunzel, the internet seemed to quickly come to a consensus on who should play Mother Gothel. That distinction went to Kathryn Hahn.

2024 has been a triumphant year for Hahn, who reprised her role as Agatha Harkness in Marvel’s Agatha All Along. So, would Hahn be open to starring in a live-action Tangled?
Kathryn Hahn Talks ‘Tangled’
In an interview with ET’s Denny Directo on the red carpet of the Golden Globes First-TIme Nominee Luncheon, Hahn was asked if she was interested in playing Mother Gothel. Seemingly thrilled at the prospect, Hahn quickly responded, “Yes!”.

As the live-action Tangled would surely have its share of musical numbers, including Mother Gothel’s popular “Mother Knows Best,” Hahn would have to sing in the film. Luckily, the star is no stranger to performing a song or two.
Earlier this year, Agatha All Along’s “The Ballad of the Witches’ Road” proved to be an immensely popular song for Marvel. Plus, Hahn has another silver bullet in her arsenal.

“I mean, I’m really good at karaoke,” she quipped.
Singing With Patti LuPone
While Hahn has shown that she has the pipes to carry a tune, she admits that singing alongside her Agatha co-star Patti Lupone was often intimidating.
“Singing next to Patti LuPone really humbles you,” she revealed. “You get really quiet because [you’re like], ‘What is that? An angel?’”

Although Disney has not announced any of Tangled‘s cast, it sounds like Hahn is interested. Hopefully, we learn more soon.
