Disneyland To Add Projection Mapping Effects to Galaxy Edge’s ‘Fire of the Rising Moons’
As any Star Wars fan knows, there is nothing quite like visiting Disneyland during Season of the Force. Every year, The Happiest Place on Earth transforms into a galactic hub featuring rare characters, themed treats, new merchandise, and the fan-favorite Hyperspace Mountain. It is a Star Wars fan’s dream come true.
However, one of the most popular offerings during Season of the Force is Fire of the Rising Moon.
On select nights, guests visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge can take in a galactic nighttime spectacular that provides a different view of Disneyland’s fireworks.

During Fire of the Rising Moons, villagers and visitors alike gather in Batuu to celebrate their freedom and honor the heroes and legends of the galaxy. As the skies of Batuu illuminate with light and color, a soundtrack that includes selections from John Williams’ Star Wars film scores plays.
Disneyland to Introduce Projection Mapping to ‘Fire of the Rising Moons’
This year, Season of the Force will return to Disneyland from March 28 through May 11, and the park has something special planned for fans.
According to the OC Register, Fire of the Rising Moons will now feature projection effects that rival those used on Sleeping Beauty Castle and Main Street, U.S.A., during Disneyland’s nighttime spectaculars.

Now, Fire of the Rising Moons will have the infrastructure and capabilities to put on a show, regardless of whether or not Disneyland has fireworks planned for that night.
The new projection mapping effects will be produced on the rockwork above Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Souk Market, and Oga’s Cantina. I can’t wait!
