Yesterday, fans were delighted by news of an upcoming Bluey movie that’s coming to theaters in 2027.

Based on the uber-popular series we all know and love, the upcoming movie will follow the Heeler family on a new (and highly-anticipated!) adventure.
Granted we’ll have to wait another two years to see it (and we’re still awaiting confirmation of a fourth season), but we’re SURE it will be worth the wait!

Unfortunately, there’s another bit of Bluey news today, and this time, it’s tad bit trifficult.
Yesterday, Bluey creator Joe Brumm shared a heartfelt letter to fans outlining his plans to take a step back from the heartwarming series.

What does this mean for the future of Bluey? Let’s check it out.
Joe Brumm To “Take a Break” from ‘Bluey’ Series
When Bluey broke records with “The Sign” this past spring, it left many fans wondering whether the tear-jerking full-length episode spelled the end for the series.

Since then, we’ve been assured that there’s more Bluey to come, and Joe Brumm’s creative team has already made good on that promise with a series of fun-filled “minisodes” starring our beloved Heeler family.

But while “The Sign” is certainly not the end for Bluey, it could be the end of Joe Brumm’s involvement in the Bluey TV series.
In a statement released yesterday, Brumm shared that he is taking a step back from the series as he works on the upcoming Bluey film.

“I always said I wouldn’t keep making the show if I thought I couldn’t make any new season as good as the last,” he wrote. “This would have been the case with a potential season four, so I’ve decided to take a break from my involvement in the TV series. In the event that I can’t wrap my head around doing more seasons myself, ‘The Sign’ will mark my TV finale for Bluey and I wrote it as such.”

It’s unclear what this may mean for the future of Bluey (and for a potential Season 4 of the series).
For now, Bluey fans will just have to wait and see.
