The Monorail Gold Returns to Service at Walt Disney World
While Walt Disney World has seen many changes over the past 50 years, some truths have stood the test of time — happy haunts still materialize at the Haunted Mansion, there is nothing better than ice cream on Main Street, U.S.A., and the most magical way to arrive at the Magic Kingdom is via monorail.
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, then you know that the Walt Disney World Monorail fleet has been systematically refurbished over the last couple of years.
Just last April, for example, we saw the Monorail Peach return to service with a refurbished interior and a new paint scheme.

Now, I am happy to report that yet another monorail has made its triumphant return.
The Monorail Gold Is Back in Service
During our stay at Island Tower today, we were thrilled to see that the Monorail Gold is once again running!

Gold Monorail
The newly refurbished monorail got a fresh coat of paint and now has the black deltas on its cabs that we have seen on other refurbished monorails.

Here is another look at the monorail passing by.

Today, the Monorail Gold ran from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Magic Kingdom!

While we don’t have photos inside the Monorail Gold, it is safe to assume that the interior has also been refurbished.
Now, guests can once again ride the Highway in the Sky aboard the Monorail Gold.
I can’t think of a better way to kick off a day at Magic Kingdom.
