PHOTOS: Deluxe Studio With Theme Park View at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort’s NEW Island Tower!
Today marks the official opening of the new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows!
To celebrate, we’re staying in the tower to be one of its very first guests! (You can virtually “stay with us” by clicking here.) During the Grand Opening Celebration this past weekend, we toured the various accommodation types, but our room has a special view–let’s check it out together!
Deluxe Studio With Theme Park View
Hello from the Island Tower! We’re in a Deluxe Studio with a theme park view! We already brought you along for a tour of a Deluxe Studio this past weekend; however, this room is slightly different and we have time to show you everything!
As a refresher, the Deluxe Studios are earth-themed, highlighting the “flora and fauna of the islands,” and accommodate up to 4 guests. Our room was set up for daytime activities and needs, with the additional bed tucked into the wall.
The stationary bed is directly next to the patio, surrounded by basket-enclosed light fixtures and floating nightstands. The bed stands on top of a rug and in front of a wall with an island-inspired, geometric pattern!
During our tour, we only viewed the green couch with the daytime, earth-inspired art piece hanging above it. But with a simple pull of the handles…
…the wall came down to reveal the additional bed!
A new art piece with a night sky was also revealed behind the bed, helping transition the room to nighttime!
Look closely–you might find some familiar people and places within the design! The film, Moana, is the inspiration for this art piece, with hidden nods to Maui…
…Pua…
…and Heihei…
…as well as not-so-hidden appearances from Moana (and her canoe)…
…and Te Fiti!
(If you look a bit closer at the couch’s art piece, you’ll notice some nods to Moana there as well, like the formation of rocks from the chiefs of Montunui!)
The kitchenette is next to the couch/bed, and has a microwave, dishwasher, sink, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and cabinets!
Across the room is a bench and table for eating and/or lounging.
Keep your eyes peeled for hidden Mickeys!
There’s some more island-inspired decor around the suite, like the floral wall behind the television…
…and the shell and Moana-inspired picture on one of the shelves.
The bathroom has a single sink…
…shower, and toilet that’s hidden behind a stall-style privacy door.
But that’s enough of the room, let’s check out the patio! Our suite has a theme park view, so you can see Magic Kingdom in the distance!
Some of the easier landmarks to spot are Cinderella Castle, the Main Street Train Station, Space Mountain, and TRON Lightcycle Run.
The patio also provided a beautiful view of the resort…
…and the Grand Floridian!
That wraps up our tour of our suite! Keep following along as we bring you everything from today’s opening of the tower!
