Mickey and Friends Form the Avengers in New Marvel/Disney Crossover Comic
Marvel and Disney are teaming up for yet another comic book one-shot. This March, Mickey will assemble his closest friends to take on a threat too large for any one hero when Marvel & Disney: What If…? Mickey & Friends Became the Avengers #1 arrives on shelves.

Building on the success of the recently released Disney & Marvel: What If…? Minnie Became Captain Marvel and their collaboration during the Disney100 celebration. The new comic book was written by Luca Barbieri and Steve Behling. Artist Alessandro Pastrovicchio was tasked with bringing the story to life.
A New Take on the Avengers Origin Story
In this retelling of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s Avengers (1963) #1, Donald Duck will play the role of Thor, Mickey Mouse will become Iron Man, Goofy is The Hulk, and Pluto and Minnie jump into action as Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Together, the team of heroes create the mighty Avengers.

In the Disney-fied retelling of the Avenger’s origin story, the team goes toe to toe with Gladstone-Loki and a “cake monster.”
When Will the Comic Be Released?
When Marvel & Disney: What If…? Mickey & Friends Became the Avengers #1 hits shelves on March 5, 2025, and there will be five total covers available. In addition to the standard cover, variant covers by Dan Jurgens, Adam Kubert, and Phil Noto have been designed.
