Jude Law Gets a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame As His ‘Star Wars’ Adventure Continues on Disney+
Just weeks after making his Star Wars debut was the mysterious Jod Na Nawood in Skeleton Crew, Jude Law received a coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
In recognition of his contributions to the motion picture industry, Law was awarded the 2,798th star on the Walk of Fame in a moving ceremony attended by his family, friends, and peers.
“I’ve been very very lucky to have had a family around me that have lived with and supported my passion for acting and filmmaking,” Law said in his speech. “And some of those members of my lovely family are here today. And they know what they mean to me. I love them so much.”
A Storied Career
During his three decades in show business, Law has starred in some of the biggest films in cinema. Among his notable movies are The Talented Mr. Ripley, A.I. Artificial Intelligence, Sherlock Holmes, Hugo, and the Fantastic Beasts series.
“Jude Law’s incredible talent and dedication to his craft have captivated audiences around the world,” said Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Over the course of his career, Law has won a BAFTA and been nominated for an Oscar, Tony, and Oliver Award.
Joining ‘Star Wars’
Currently, Law is starring in Skeleton Crew, where he plays a mysterious Force user named Ja Na Nawood. As a longtime fan of the Star Wars franchise, jumping into the franchise was a dream come true.
“I always wanted to be Han,” he recently told StarWars.com. “Well, it depended on the game. I probably wanted to be [Darth] Vader sometimes as well.”
Law now joins fellow Star Wars luminaries Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Ewan McGregor, Harrison Ford, and Jon Favreau in receiving his star on the Walk of Fame.
“To have a place here amongst the talent that I grew up watching in all those films is both sublime and ridiculous,” he said with a smile. “I really appreciate it.”
