A Disney Family Tradition: Spreading Joy Through Toys for Tots
Each holiday season, Disney partners with the Marine Toys for Tots Program to bring joy to children in need.
For Sgt. Muscaro, a United States Marine, and his father, Kent, a Disney director of finance, this experience is deeply personal.
“My dad has worked for Disney for as long as I can remember,” Sgt. Muscaro said. “We were a Disney family growing up. When I first started working on Toys for Tots and saw how involved Disney was, it just felt like this full-circle moment.”
Family Tradition
Inspired by his father and grandfather, both Marines, Sgt. Muscaro is a warehouse manager who oversees Toys for Tots donations across three Central Florida counties. He ensures toys are counted, sorted, and ready for distribution.
“I’m very proud,” said Kent, tearing up. “When I see him taking on these responsibilities – not only with Toys for Tots, but also as a leader in the Marines – I’m just very proud.”
His efforts are complemented by the generosity of Disney cast members and guests. Nearly 20,000 toys this year were donated through the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive.
Kent shares that Disney cast members are some of the most generous people he’s ever known.
“The volume of toys that they give is unbelievable,” Kent said. “Not only that, but there are Disney VoluntEARS who’ve been involved in Toys for Tots for years, and they come with a lot of experience and a big heart to give back to the community.”
A Long-Standing Partnership
Disney’s partnership with Toys for Tots spans over 75 years. It began with Walt Disney and his animators, who designed the program’s iconic train logo. This tradition of giving continues today.
You can join in the holiday spirit and donate a toy online at DisneyStore.com through December 24th. Join Disney, the Marines, and others like the Muscaro family in making this holiday season unforgettable for children in need!
