‘Prison Break’ Reboot Gets a Pilot Order From Hulu
For the second time in the last five years, a Prison Break revival is in the works.
Hulu has ordered a pilot of a reboot of the fan-favorite series, which initially ran from 2005 through 2009. The first four seasons of Prison Break told the story of two brothers: Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) and Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller).

When Lincoln is sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit, Michael devises an elaborate plan to help his brother escape and, eventually, clear his name. In addition to Purcell and Miller, the series starred Robin Tunney, Peter Stormare, Amaury Nolasco, Marshall Allman, Wade Williams and Paul Adelstein.
A Previous Revival Aired in 2017
Prison Break initially ended with the Season 4 finale and subsequent TV movie Prison Break: The Final Break. The series was revived by Fox for a fifth season in 2017.

After nine episodes, Season 5 of Prison Break ended on May 30, 2017, ending the series. Or so we thought.
The Original Cast Is Not Returning
Seven years after Prison Break went off the air, Hulu has ordered a pilot for a reboot of the series from showrunner Elgin James. Produced by 20th Television, the series is not expected to star Miller or Purcell but will instead focus on a new group of inmates.

In addition to James, the Prison Break reboot will be produced by Dawn Olmstead and original series creators Paul Scheurig, Marty Adelstein, and Neal Moritz.

At this time, there is no indication of when the reboot will premiere.
