Disney Is Creating a Harry Houdini Spy Thriller?
Walt Disney Studios is developing a spy thriller based on the life of master escape artist Harry Houdini.
According to Deadline, the film will be titled Becoming Houdini and is being written by Michael Finch and Alex Litvak.

Produced by Scott Sanders and Danny Strong, it will begin with the legendary magician’s rise to fame and examine the public’s continuing fascination with his escapades.
Much of Houdini’s Life Is Shrouded in Mystery
While Harry Houdini would eventually become one of the most famous stars in the world, his origins are shrouded in mystery. According to the Deadline report, Becoming Houdini will tackle the famed magician’s origin story and explore the rumors that performed undercover work in Britain and America.

Houdini was born Erik Weisz in Budapest on March 24, 1874. He moved to the United States with his mother in 1887 and adopted the name Harry Houdini in 1890. He took the name after reading French magician Jean-Eugene Robert-Houdin’s autobiography.
After captivating the world for 35 years, Houdini passed away on October 31, 1926.
When Will the Film Be Released?
In addition to Strong and Sanders, Becoming Houdini is being produced by Mara Jacobs,. Executive producers include Oren Aviv and Mandy Safav. Jessica Virtue will oversee the film for Disney.
At this time, there is no word on the film’s cast or when it will be released.
