Longtime Disney Executive Louie Provost Is Leaving the Company
After a 17-year career at Disney, Louie Provost, the studio’s Executive Vice President of Motion Picture Production, is leaving at the end of the year.
According to a report from Deadline, Provost’s contract is set to expire and has not been renewed. Currently, there is no indication of where the executive is heading next.

“My time at Disney has been unforgettable – during my seventeen years here, I’ve had the opportunity to work with incredible filmmakers making projects we loved on all sorts of different scales, everything from big blockbusters like ‘Aladdin’ and ‘Maleficent’ to inventive comedies like ‘Rescue Rangers’ and bold reinventions like ‘Pete’s Dragon,’” Provost said.

“I’m so fortunate to have had mentors like Alan Bergman, Alan Horn, Sean Bailey, and David Greenbaum through the years, and am grateful for their trust and support during my time here.”
Why Provost Is Exiting
Provost began his Disney career in 2007 as an assistant and has worked in many roles over the past 17 years. Among the titles he helped bring to life for Disney were Maleficient: Mistress of Evil and The Muppets. He is also credited on the upcoming Lilo & Stitch live-action remake.

While no reason was given for Disney’s decision not to renew Provost’s contract, it is perhaps unsurprising. Sean Bailey, who worked closely with Provost as president of 20th Century Studios and Disney’s live-action films, left Disney in February.
Bailey will perhaps best be remembered for spearheading Disney’s live-action remake efforts, of which Provost played a major role.

With David Greenbaum now in charge, the new motion picture head may want his own people in place.
