‘The Bear’ Star Jeremy Allen White Joins ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’
The Bear star Jeremy Allen White is trading in his Chicago sandwich shop to join a galaxy far, far away.
According to a report from Deadline, White has joined the cast of The Mandalorian & Grogu, where he will voice Jabba the Hutt’s son, Rotta.
The Hutts have played a major role in the Star Wars franchise since A New Hope, with multiple members of the crime syndicate family introduced over the years. Rotta was initially unveiled in The Clone Wars film before making an appearance in an episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series.
Another Star Joins ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’
In addition to the uber-popular Grogu, The Mandalorian & Grogu now boasts a star-studded cast that includes Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver, and White. The film will also see the return of fan-favorite characters Babu Frick and Zeb from Star Wars Rebels, who were teased at August’s D23: The Ultimate Fan Event.
With filming on The Mandalorian & Grogu already complete, it looks like Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and their team managed to keep White’s involvement a secret for a while. At this time, Lucasfilm has not commented on the latest news.
As for White, the Emmy-winning actor is coming off a wildly successful run on The Bear and will now enter perhaps the pre-eminent franchise in film history. Not too shabby.
The Mandalorian & Grogu will hit theaters on May 22, 2026.
