The Disney Treasure’s Walt Disney Imagineering Lab Is a Disney Parks Fan’s Dream Come True
As the worldwide leader in family cruises, Disney Cruise Line goes to extra lengths to ensure its ships offer experiences, entertainment, and dining for guests of all ages.
In case you haven’t heard, MickeyBlog is reporting live from the Disney Treasure today, and we could not be more excited! Throughout the afternoon, we have brought you updates on Disney’s Oceeener Club offerings aboard the newest Disney Cruise Line ship.
So far, we have toured Fairytale Hall, with its three immersive areas, and suited up alongside the Avengers at Marvel Super Hero Academy.
Now, however, I want to turn your attention to the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab.
The Secrets of Walt Disney Imagineering Come to Life
In this immersive environment, guests ages 3 to 12 can let their imaginations run wild as they discover the secrets of Walt Disney Imagineering through hands-on activities and inventive experiments.
The Walt Disney Imagineering Lab is a Disney Parks fan’s dream.
Here, you can find diagrams, concept art, models, and maquettes for various attractions from around the world.
This display case alone features a Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters gun, a diagram of Club 33’s exterior, a prop from Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and a model of the disappearing butterfly from Journey Into Your Imagination With Figment.
Here is a closer look at the butterfly. Disney has really gotten their money’s worth out of that effect.
Toy Story Land concept art is on display.
So is an old EPCOT Center sign.
Attraction posters line the walls…
….as do Imagineering uniforms and hard hats.
I love this paper FastPass sticker!
The Walt Disney Imagineering Prop Shop houses all kinds of fun remnants of Disney past, including a Kidcot Fun Stop pennant, a sign from Town Square, an Astro Blasters poster, and part of a PeopleMover ride vehicle!
Nearby, a Figment model sits in a 3D printer.
Finally, you can even find a model of the Aladdin and Jasmine statue found in the Treasure’s Grand Hall.
Ride Studio
In a throwback to The Sum of All Thrills, guests can also design their own roller coaster and then ride it virtually at Ride Studio.
If you plan on taking a family cruise aboard the Disney Treasure, your kids will definitely want to check out the Walt Disney Imagineering lab!
