Blizzard Beach Closes Through Tuesday Due to Cooler Temperatures
With the calendar now reading “December,” winter has finally descended upon us.
For much of the United States, this means that snow has begun to pile up, temperatures have dropped below freezing, and the wind continues to howl.
At Walt Disney World, however, winter hits a little bit differently. Today, for example, the highs will “only” reach the mid-60s. While most of us would love to spend a December day in such conditions, in Florida, that constitutes as chilly.

To that end, Walt Disney World has announced that Blizzard Beach will be closed through tomorrow due to cooler temperatures.
Blizzard Beach Is Closed
While Disney tries to keep at least one water park open throughout the year, it is not uncommon for Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon to close more frequently during the winter.

With Typhoon Lagoon currently closed for refurbishment, only Blizzard Beach’s operations have been affected by the cold front.
A quick look at the Walt Disney World calendar shows that the water park is expected to reopen on Wednesday, December 4.

Currently, the forecast calls for a high of 67 degrees that day.
When Will the Water Park Reopen?
Looking ahead, temperatures will continue to warm up. Here is a glimpse at the 10-day forecast.

Based on these projections, Blizzard Beach should stay open going forward, and guests will once again be able to enjoy some fun in the sun.
