However, for Disney CEO Bob Iger, maintaining his health is the foundation of his leadership success.
Starting the Day
Iger, 73, begins his day at 4:15 a.m. with an hour-long workout that he credits with keeping him energized and focused.
As he shared on the In Good Company podcast, this routine is essential for both “sanity and vanity.” Exercise clears his mind, sharpens his stamina, and prepares him to tackle the challenges of leading a $200 billion company.

Iger said, “Staying in shape and having stamina is critical for me, and that’s eating well, exercising, and just taking care of my body and my mind. I could not do this job if I were not in some form of physical and mental health.”
His leadership philosophy underscores the importance of bringing energy to every moment and notes that enthusiasm is contagious and inspiring to his team.

Iger first served as CEO of the Walt Disney Company between 2005 and 2020, spearheading the acquisitions of Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and 21st Century Fox’s entertainment assets.
