Mele Kalikimaka Brings Fun Flavors to EPCOT Festival of the Holidays
Aloha from the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays!
Our MickeyBloggers have been at the park all day soaking up the seasonal spirit — and it’s been a magical day so far. Right now, we’re exploring the World Showcase on a fabulous feast of festive flavors. Our next stop is Mele Kalikimaka Holiday Kitchen, so come along with us to try it out!
Anyone up for some festive, Polynesian-inspired treats? Well, let’s take a closer look at this menu, and the items on offer…
Food Menu
This year, there are two savory dishes at Mele Kalikimaka, and one sweet. The first savory dish is the Lomi Lomi Salmon, costing $6.50. Served with tomatoes, onions, salmon roe, yuzu mayonnaise, and yuca chips, this sounds very delicious!
However, it was the Kālua Pork we had our eye on today. We had to order this delicious-sounding dish, which cost $6 and included Okinawa sweet potatoes and mango salad.
According to our reporters, this dish had great potential but fell a little flat. The potatoes were creamy yet just tasted earthy rather than flavorful, while the pork itself seemed as though it had been left out a bit long. Oh dear!
Also…we’re counting one cube of mango in this “mango salad.” Did the servers forget to finish the serving? Oops!
Moving on to the sweet stuff now, where Mele Kalikimaka is offering a Coffee Mocha Cookie. Costing $3.25, this Cookie Stroll offering is topped with coffee-infused buttercream, cocoa nibs, and chocolate-covered espresso beans.
Sounds like it’s got a bit of a kick, right?
Well, although our reporters found the cookie itself a bit dull, that coffee icing carried the treat for sure! It was very sweet and heavy on the coffee, while the buttercream was light and fluffy.
Perhaps not our favorite cookie of the festival, but definitely one we’d order again!
Beverage Menu
If you’re looking for drinks from Mele Kalikimaka, here’s what’s on offer.
There’s a Pineapple Sparkling Wine from Florida Orange Groves Winery, and a 5 Gold Rings beer option from The Bruery.
If it’s a cocktail you’re after, check out the Melon Breeze. This blends DOLE pineapple juice with lime juice, melon liqueur, and Sailor Jerry spiced rum. Festive!
