Meet the Cast Members Inside EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional
Walt Disney World is truly a magical place to spend the holidays, and EPCOT is the perfect backdrop for festive fun.
One of the most inspirational offerings at EPCOT is the Candlelight Processional.
This special event is more than just a holiday performance—it’s a cherished tradition that has captivated guests for decades.
History and Tradition
In a sea of golden robes, majestic movement, and performance under the stars, the sopranos, altos, tenors, baritones, and basses come together to harmonize and create a powerful chorus.

The best part? These are all cast members of Walt Disney World Resort. Each year, approximately 1,500 cast members earn their place in this volunteer choir.
In addition to the singers, there is a 50-piece orchestra, the Voices of Liberty, and celebrity narrators who retell the Christmas story.

Michael Wallace, a bass who has participated for 15 years, shares the stage with his wife Sandi and their son Parker this year.
“I’ve been so humbled to be part of this magical tradition for the past 15 years,” said Wallace who is a systems analyst for Walt Disney World. “I just cross my fingers because it’s truly so special and surreal to share the stage with my wife and now my son.”

The Wallaces, like thousands of other cast members, begin their journey in late summer when they audition for their spot with a provided holiday classic. Those cast members who are chosen rehearse from September through November.
“It’s an honor to carry on our family’s unique holiday tradition,” says Parker. “It’s become a core memory for all of us.”
Disney Tradition
This tradition, which originated at Disneyland in 1958, has been a staple at Walt Disney World since 1971 and is a fan-favorite event.
Guests can experience the magic of the Candlelight Processional at the 2024 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, with performances running now through December 30.
