PHOTOS: Expanded Haunted Mansion Queue and Magnolia Park Debut at Disneyland
Since Disneyland Resort announced that a new expanded queue area and gift shop were coming to the Haunted Mansion, fans have waited with ghoulish delight (and bated breath) to see how Disney would update the area.
After months of waiting, I am happy to report that the construction project is complete, and the Haunted Mansion queue is once again open to guests. So, let’s take a tour and see what has changed!
Magnolia Park
Magnolia Park has now opened to guests in the heart of New Orleans Square. Located between Tiana’s Palace and the Haunted Mansion, the new area is an elegant park-like setting, complete with oak and ficus trees.
This quiet spot is the perfect place to sit, relax, or even catch some live entertainment! Interestingly, the name “Magnolia Park” was previously used to refer to a section of Adventureland where the Disneyland Bandstand was found.
Expanded Haunted Mansion Grounds
Heading past the gates to the Haunted Mansion, the newly expanded grounds have officially debuted.
The area is now home to the Spanish fountain that once sat in the middle of Magnolia Park.
Two raven statues are also located here. Once upon a time, the macabre bird was going to serve as the Haunted Mansion’s narrator!
Master Gracey’s Garden
Making their way around the bend, guests will find themselves in Master Gracey’s garden retreat.
Among the sights here are a sea maiden fountain, a wrought iron gazebo complete with a bench, a well-read book, and a smoking pipe that has been left behind.
Madame Leota’s Garden
Further into the queue, guests come upon Madame Leota’s garden. The entire area seems to be covered in a mysterious aura as if every object is under the spell of the soothsayer.
Inside the garden, guests can find a small statuary of oddities, including frogs, lizards, rats, and a cymbal-playing monkey. Each statue looks like it has been frozen in time.
Madame Leota has also decorated a large tree in the center of the courtyard with colorful ornaments, chimes, and bells.
A New Haunted Mansion Shop Is Coming!
Finally, a new shop, Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond, will join the new Haunted Mansion queue.
You can read our full rundown of the upcoming shop here!
As previously reported, the new Haunted Mansion queue is now open to guests. With the completion of the construction, Haunted Mansion Holiday no longer uses a virtual queue system, and traditional standby has returned.
So, if you are planning a trip to Disneyland, make sure you are prepared!
