Walt Disney World Wait Times for Third Week of November 2024
Happy Thanksgiving Week to my American friends! To everyone else, enjoy a lovely non-holiday week.
Here in the United States, fans are flocking to the theme parks as the holiday approaches.
However, the week before Thanksgiving isn’t generally that busy, at least not historically.
How were the crowds this past week? Here are Walt Disney World’s wait times for the third week of November 2024.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Tree of Life
I’ve got friends at the park right now. They divided their stay such that part of it was before Thanksgiving Week.
In exchanging texts today, they’ve joked that things looked a LOT different a couple of days ago, which is to be expected.

Animal Kingdom
Many fans wait until Saturday or Sunday before Thanksgiving Week to travel to Disney.
For this reason, I’d expect a modest week at Animal Kingdom now, followed by an extremely busy one next week.
Am I right? Here are the park’s average wait times last week:
- Avatar Flight of Passage – 59 minutes, down 5
- Na’vi River Journey – 50 minutes, down 6
- Kilimanjaro Safaris – 39 minutes, down 8
- Adventurers Outpost – 32 minutes, down 7
- Expedition Everest – 20 minutes, down 10
- DINOSAUR – 15 minutes, down 9
- It’s Tough to Be a Bug! – 10 minutes, no change
- Kali River Rapids – 9 minutes, down 8
- TriceraTop Spin – 8 minutes, down 2
Overall, guests stood in line for an average of 27 minutes, which is six full minutes lower than last time.
So, Walt Disney World crowds may have been waaaaay down last week, unless Animal Kingdom is just an outlier.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios
Here’s the park where all the action occurred last week, and it had nothing to do with the crowds.
Disney confirmed our worst fears in revealing that Monstropolis will take over Muppets Courtyard.

In the process, Muppet*Vision 3D must die, which is a brutal loss to anyone familiar with Muppets history.
This attraction proved the final time that Jim Henson voiced Kermit the Frog. So, it matters.

Muppet*Vision 3D
Disney has indicated that it’ll try to find a new home for Muppet*Vision 3D in some form, but we don’t know what this is yet.
Also, Disney isn’t always the best at keeping its theme park promises. Let’s hope the company does here.

EPCOT
The EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival officially closed on Saturday, November 23rd.
So, six of the seven dates we’ll discuss featured the festival. Only Sunday’s data doesn’t.
Notably, there isn’t much of a festival gap at the park, as the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays begins on Friday.
That’s another reason why EPCOT crowds will soar later in the week as guests discover the new festival offerings.
As usual, MickeyBlog will offer comprehensive coverage of all the new booths, food, beverages, and merchandise.
But that’s a conversation for Friday. For now, here are EPCOT’s average wait times last week.

Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks
Only two Walt Disney World attractions increased their wait times week over week, which tells the whole story here.
At Magic Kingdom, guests stood in line for an average of 23 minutes, which is one minute less than last time.
Magic Kingdom is the only park that didn’t drop significantly, and that’s partially because its average wait time is already quite low for here.
What we can tell from this information is that tourists definitely waited for the holiday to visit Disney.
You can safely expect MUCH longer wait times this week.
