ESPN Enters the Late-Night Game With ‘They Call It Late Night With Jason Kelce’
Former Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Kelce is expanding his role at ESPN and entering the late-night television business.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, the ESPN NFL analyst announced that he will host a new late-night show on ESPN, They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce.
The new show will premiere on January 3, to coincide with the last week of the NFL regular season and the start of the playoffs.
“I loved late-night shows. I’ve always loved them. I remember sleepovers watching Conan O’Brien with my friends,” Kelce said on Kimmel’s show. “We’re going to have a bunch of guys up there: legends of the game, friends that I played with, coaches, celebrities.”
How to Watch ‘They Call it Late-Nite With Jason Kelce’
They Call it Late Night With Jason Kelce will be filmed in front of a live studio audience at Union Transfer in Philadelphia. The show will air on five consecutive Friday nights, beginning on January 3. The first four episodes of the series will air at 1 AM ET, while the finale on February 1 will start at 1:30 AM ET.
The title of Kelce’s new late-night show is an homage to They Call It Pro Football, the first full-length film from NFL films.
Each episode of They Call It Late Night will rerun on ESPN2 and stream on ESPN+. It will also be available on ESPN’s and Jason Kelce’s YouTube channels.
Kelce’s Role Continues to Expand
Jason Kelce joined ESPN in May 2024 and has primarily been utilized as an analyst on Monday Night Countdown.
“Jason is a highly respected, Super Bowl Champion with a strong connection to fans,” said Burke Magnus, ESPN President of Content. “Walking off the field and immediately to ESPN, viewers will benefit from his perspective. Which has been shaped through his years as an established locker room leader and a future Hall of Fame center. Jason’s addition to Monday Night Countdown will greatly strengthen our NFL coverage.”
Now, the sports media personality will get a chance to spread his wings.
