So, what will Disney be like in April 2025? Let’s discuss why this is an ideal time to visit.
Visiting Disney in April
For generations now, a springtime visit to Walt Disney World signals one event above all others.
Disney will host an annual springtime tradition, the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.

Currently, EPCOT festivals are driving the park to record attendance levels, and this is the granddaddy of them all.
The Flower & Garden Festival is symbolic of the eternal nature of spring, as the weather performs its annual renaissance.

We leave beyond the desolate winter conditions and embrace the renewal of the leaves on the trees.
Disney relishes this magical time on the calendar and accentuates it by creating horticultural wonders themed to Disney characters.

You’ll ostensibly be looking at a bush, but it’s the greenest Lightning McQueen you’ve ever seen.
Disney can take a shrubbery and turn it into an unforgettable scene from Fantasia.

The whole experience is mesmerizing, and that’s before we factor in that you’re likely to visit Disney in April anyway.
After all, those of you who are parents of school-aged children don’t have much choice.
Miguel and Dante
You can vacation at Disney when your child is on Spring Break, and that’s it. You don’t have any wiggle room here.
Since many North American schools offer Spring Break in April, this becomes the de facto busy season at Disney.

Similarly, Easter Sunday falls on April 20th in 2025. So, that’s another week when it’s easier for you to visit.
As a reminder, that statement applies to everyone else as well.

Thus, you should expect larger crowds during April Disney vacations.
Springtime in Orlando
You’ll find the weather in Orlando divine, especially if you live in a part of the world where it doesn’t heat up in early April.
At Walt Disney World, the daily high temperature averages 84 degrees but rarely fluctuates dramatically from those levels.
Magic Kingdom
You’ll find a high temperature range of 72-90 degrees, suggesting that it’ll be comfortable and warm but not hot.
Given that Orlando heats up in May and especially June, that makes an April visit the best time to evade the cold but beat the heat.
EPCOT
Conversely, cold weather is a rarity in Orlando in April. To wit, the average low temperature almost never drops below 52 degrees.
Overall, the average low temperature is 66 degrees, but it rarely goes above 71 degrees, providing you with a nice, reliable range.
Tree of Life
As you can tell by the average and the high being so close together, the weather remains safely in the 60s at worst.
So, you can comfortably pack shorts and swim trunks, knowing that you’ll remain comfortably toasty throughout your visit.
Hollywood Studios
The lone weather consideration is that you’ll face nearly constant cloud cover during your visit, at least based on recent Orlando history.
WeatherSpark suggests that you’ll experience cloud cover more than one-third of the time during your visit.
Clouds during Spring Break
Not coincidentally, you should expect rain as well. During a five-day vacation, you’re likely to experience rain at least once, if not more.
So, you should pack an umbrella or a rain slicker just to be safe, although I always recommend that for an Orlando vacation anyway.
What You Will Find at Disney in April
I already discussed the primary draw in April. The Flower & Garden Festival represents EPCOT’s longest-running tradition.
Still, you shouldn’t think that it’s the only reason to visit this spring.

Disney has recently added several new attractions, many of which you haven’t experienced yet.
Examples include Country Bear Musical Jamboree, Journey of Water | Inspired by Moana, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and TRON Lightcycle / Run.

Others will debut in 2025, although Disney hasn’t provided the timelines yet.
I doubt that Test Track 3.0 will be open in April, but I also cannot rule it out.

Tron is an excellent recent example of an attraction Disney unexpectedly debuted in April.
Other attractions coming soon include a Disney Villains-themed show and the return of a Little Mermaid show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Basically, no matter when you visit Disney these days, there’s always something new worth your time.
What You Will Find in Central Florida in April
Let’s focus on the most interesting element in Central Florida next spring.
Universal Epic Universe will officially open to the public on May 22nd, 2025, the start of Memorial Day Weekend.

When you visit the region in April, that obviously won’t help you, at least not at face value.
However, two new Universal Studios hotels, Universal Terra Luna Resort and Universal Stella Nova Resort, will be open by then.

Also, there’s a hidden benefit to jumping the gun. Universal officials have readily admitted that an attendance slump is unfolding.
Guests are awaiting the arrival of Epic Universe before they visit the parks.

So, you’d have a unique opportunity to enjoy a split Disney/Universal vacation at a time when few are doing so.
If that’s not an idea you love, you’ll find other options like the end of the end of the NBA season for the Orlando Magic.

As I type this, they’re trending toward being a playoff team this year, which should make their April home games crucial to seeding.
Similarly, the Orlando Pride will have started their 2025 season by then, and the Orlando City SC may be playing a few Friendly matches, too.

Disney fans can also catch Disney’s The Lion King performing at the Walt Disney Theater as well.
In short, you’ll find plenty of excellent distractions, presuming you’re willing to leave the Disney Bubble, something I rarely do.
Final Thoughts
Again, you may not have much choice when it comes to the timing of your Disney vacation.
You want to go to Disney, but when you have school-aged children, your options are limited.

Basically, you’ll go when your kid has Spring Break, or you have enough vacation time to make Easter Week work.
Then again, you may not have children and just wanna go where it’s warm. Disney World is ideal for that!
EPCOT
Of course, no matter your motivations, you’ll love a Disney vacation, especially in April.
The weather’s lovely, the attractions just keep getting better, and the Flower & Garden Festival remains the gold standard.
