Disney’s Blizzard Beach to Close For Three Days Due to Cold Temperatures
With temperatures around the country cooling off, it is finally starting to feel like winter.
For most of us, that means freezing temperatures and snow are on the horizon. At Walt Disney World, however, the high today is a brisk 67 degrees.
While most of the country would be thrilled to see temperatures reach the 60s in late November, for Orlando, it is cold.
Unfortunately, with cool temperatures in the forecast for the next couple of days, Disney has decided to close Blizzard Beach.
Blizzard Beach Will Remain Closed Through Saturday
A quick look at the Walt Disney World calendar shows that the water park will be closed at least through Saturday, as temperatures are supposed to remain in the 60s.
With warmer weather on the horizon, Blizzard Beach will reopen on Sunday, November 24, and hopefully continue operating for the foreseeable future.
While Disney tries to keep at least one water park open throughout the entire year, it is not uncommon for Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon to close more frequently during the winter.
Currently, Typhoon Lagoon is closed for refurbishment, meaning only Blizzard Beach’s operations have been affected by the cold front.
So, make sure you check the My Disney Experience app for the latest updates. If you plan on visiting Walt Disney World over the next couple of months, you may have to be prepared to call an audible should Blizzard Beach close due to cold temperatures.
