A Fan-Favorite ‘Star Wars’ Series Is Coming Back For a Third Season
While the future of Star Wars on Disney+ remains clouded after Skeleton Crew debuts next month, fans can take solace in the fact that at least one animated series is set to return.
At today’s two-day Content Showcase event in Singapore, Disney announced that Star Wars Visions will return for a third installment.

For those who don’t know, Visions is a collection of non-canon animated Star Wars shorts produced by different Japanese animation studios. The creators have largely been given free rein in both the animation styles they use and the stories they tell.
‘Visions’ Is Turning Back to Japan
When the first volume of Visions debuted on Disney+ in September 2021, the season included 9 episodes produced by Japanese studios, including Kamikaze Douga, Studio Colorido, Geno Studio, Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Production I.G. and Science Saru.

The series was lauded by fans and critics alike for its storytelling and diverse styles.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, for the second volume of Visions, Disney turned to studios around the globe including Aardman (U.K.), El Guiri (Spain), Cartoon Saloon (Ireland), Punkrobot (Chile), Studio Mir (South Korea), Studio La Cachette (France), 88 Pictures (India), D’art Shtajio (Japan) and Triggerfish (South Africa/Ireland).

This time around, Visions is returning to Japan.
The Uncertain Future of Star Wars on Streaming
With the end of The Bad Batch, The Acolyte, and potentially The Mandalorian, Disney’s plans for Star Wars are largely unclear. Outside of Ahsoka Season 2, Visions Volume 3 is the only other confirmed project in the works.
