WATCH: Joy Welcomes Audiences Back to Riley’s Mind In First ‘Dream Productions’ Trailer
The next chapter in the Inside Out franchise will unfold on December 11, when Dream Productions debuts on Disney+.
The upcoming series will return audiences to Riley’s mind, where dreams come true every night, on time and on budget.

Set between the events of Inside Out and Inside Out 2, the four-episode Dream Productions will take place at a time when Riley is growing up, and her memories need extra processing.
Joy, Sadness and the Rest of Riley’s Emotions Return
To help, Joy, Sadness, and the rest of Riley’s Core Emotions head down to Dream Productions. There, director Paula Persimmon is faced with the nightmarish task of trying to create her own hit dream after being paired with a smug daydream director named Xeni.

Directed by Mike Jones, Dream Productions stars Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Ally Maki, Paula Pell, Richard Ayoade, Kensington Tallman, Liza Lapira, Tony Hale, Lewis Black, and Phyllis Smith.
“Remember we go to Dream Production to see how Riley’s dreams are made? It semi-explains why they’re so weird,” Pixar COO Pete Docter explained earlier this year.

“We’ve continued the exploration of the power of dreams and how they affect us in our waking life, as well. So it’s pretty cool.”
Disney Fastracked the Series
While Dream Productions was initially expected to debut next spring, the historic success of Inside Out 2 convinced Disney to move the series’ release date up.
Ahead of the show’s December 11 debut, Disney released the first Dream Productions trailer. If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out now!
