PHOTOS and VIDEO: Bob Iger and Josh D’Amaro Help Christen the Disney Treasure
A new chapter in Disney Cruise Line history began tonight in New York City with the official christening of the Disney Treasure.
The newest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet, the Treasure draws inspiration from Disney’s timeless tales of adventure. This ship will include all the amenities, recreational activities, and exceptional customer service that Disney Cruise Line is known for.
Additionally, it will introduce a variety of new experiences, including innovative dining options, reimagined entertainment, and unique onboard activities designed to immerse guests in the magic of Disney storytelling.

For those who don’t know, a christening is a maritime tradition that marks the launch of a ship’s active service and promises safety and good fortune in its future sailings.
The Ceremony Begins
Tonight’s festivities kicked off with Jordin Sparks singing the ship’s anthem, “Live the Adventure.”
The performance was followed by an awe-inspiring drone show inspired by the characters and stories that influenced the immersive experiences that guests will find aboard the Treasure.
Luckily, MickeyBlog was in attendance at the christening and was able to capture the magical moments that unfolded.

In case there was any question that the christening of the Disney Treasure was a major moment in Disney history, Bob Iger and Josh D’Amaro were on hand for the ceremony, speaking to the crowd and previewing the adventures awaiting guests aboard the new vessel.
Captain Mickey and Minnie joined the pair of executives, who were delighted to show off the latest addition to the Disney Cruise Line.
“For more than 100 years, Disney stories have filled the world with joy and wonder, capturing the hearts and imaginations of generations across every continent,” Iger began.

“Since the launch of the Disney Cruise Line in 1998, our ships have become brand ambassadors and the immersive nature of our theme parks to new audiences and new places all over the world.”
Iger then previewed many of the immersive experiences that await guests aboard the Disney Treasure.

“This incredible new ship is a shining example of everything our fans love about Disney,” Iger continued.
