Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside Resort Puts a Southern Spin on Christmas

If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that the holiday season is in full swing at Walt Disney World.

Throughout the day, we have been reporting live from the Disney resorts, updating you on all the festive fun and holiday decor that has arrived!

Earlier, we visited Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Now, however, I want to turn your attention to Port Orleans Riverside, which is now glistening with holiday cheer!

Christmas in the Bayou

The festive fun at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside begins as soon as you drive up!

As you can see, the outside of the Sassagoula Steamboat Company lobby is decked out with garland!

Inside the lobby, strands of glistening garland have been strung between the room’s columns.

The garland is decorated with ornaments and flowers.

Wreaths also line the walls, adding even more twinkling lights to the atmosphere.

The resort’s Christmas tree is the centerpiece of the Port Orleans Riverside holiday decor.

Standing tall in the center of the lobby, the tree has been decorated with flowers and ornaments, giving it a distinctly Southern feel.

Here is a closer look at some of the ornaments. They are beautiful!

I love the use of Magnolia flowers. They really give the tree character!

Beneath the tree, travel bags and chests can be found.
