See Why the New Eats and Drinks at Oga’s Cantina Fell Flat
Are you looking to bite into something new at the Disney World Resort? If so, you’re in luck!
The Cake Bake Shop just opened on Disney’s BoardWalk, EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays is kicking off soon (joining the rest of the resort’s holiday bites), and new eats and drinks just arrived at Oga’s Cantina! And we’re also in the mood to try something new, so let’s head over to Oga’s Catina!
New Eats and Drinks at Oga’s Cantina
Oga’s Cantina in Disney’s Hollywood Studios has new eats and drinks!
While we’d love to try them all, we only got a few items–the Nysillin & Bubbles with Brub Berry Essence, the Thruster Roasted Bantha Flatbread, and the Umbaran Cheese Roll.
We started off with the Nysillin & Bubbles with Brub Berry Essence which costs $18. The drink is Empress 1908 Gin, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur, and blueberry-lime juice topped with tonic water and garnished with an edible hibiscus flower. (Our server recommended this drink!)
The drink is super refreshing, with a subtle hint of blueberry and lime. We’ve found that floral drinks can be overpowering, but this wasn’t! The soda water surprisingly didn’t provide much of a bubbly effect, but overall, we enjoyed the drink and would get it again.
Next up is the Umbaran Cheese Roll, which is a Spice-dusted pretzel bun stuffed with herbed cheese and a dipping sauce. We grabbed it for $12.
This was much spicier than we expected–not complaining, by the way. The pretzel was thick which paired well with the hefty portion of cheese. We definitely tasted the herbs in the cheese, but be prepared for a kick of heat! We’re honestly not too sure how we felt about the combination of flavors–the herbs felt a bit out of place.
Last up is the Thruster Roasted Bantha Flatbread, which is a Naan flatbread topped with spiced chorizo beef and a four-cheese blend. We got this item for $17.
The chorizo has a very mild spice, so it’s not overpowering. The flatbread is crispy but could have used a few more minutes in the oven. Honestly, it’s lacking seasoning but is still a solid option nonetheless. (Also, be prepared for it to be much smaller than advertised.)
Here are all the other new eats and drinks that have hit the location:
- Bloody Rancor with Candied Meat: Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur, and house-made bloody mary mix garnished with a spicy candied rancor bacon
- The Sylop: Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, grapefruit juice, lime juice, agave, and jalapeño with a chili-lime-seasoned rim
- Corellian Spike Cold Brew: Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew, vanilla, brown sugar syrup, and orange bitters topped with purple vanilla-ube foam
Overall, it’s exciting to get new foods and drinks, but they fell flat for us. Nothing stood out as something we’d highly recommend to others. We hope to see some tweaks to these items.
And we’ll keep reviewing the new items hitting the resort, so stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com!
