Lightning Lane Premier Pass Sells Out For the First Time at Disney World
When Walt Disney World officially launched the Lightning Lane Premier Pass last month, many were skeptical that there would be a demand for such a luxury product.
For those who don’t know, the Lighting Lane Premier Pass is available to guests staying at Walt Disney World Deluxe Resorts, Deluxe Villa Resorts, and other select hotels. The Lightning Lane Premier Pass allows guests a one-time entry to each Lightning Lane experience in one of Disney World’s four theme parks.

As an added bonus, guests do not need to schedule their arrival for each Lightning Lane attraction. They can simply show up and ride!
The Question Was Demand
While getting to enter any Lightning Lane at your convenience is a dream come true for most Disney fans, the high price point of the pass makes it exclusionary. When the Lightning Lane Premier Pass was announced, it was reported that the average price for the pass would be:
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: $129-$199 plus tax
- EPCOT: $169-$249 plus tax
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: $269-$349 plus tax
- Magic Kingdom: $329-$449 plus tax
Although the price point is high, the service makes visiting Walt Disney World’s theme parks a breeze. We loved the convenience of using the Lightning Lane Premier Pass and felt it was worth the cost.
Apparently, we are not the only ones.
Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios Lightning Lane Premier Passes Sell Out On November 25
For the first time ever, the Lightning Lane Premier Pass sold out at Walt Disney World on November 25 for both Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Guests attempting to purchase the Premier Pass in the My Disney Experience app for that date are told that Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are unavailable. EPCOT ($209 per guest) and Disney’s Animal Kingdom ($139 per guest) both still have Premier Passes available.

The Lightning Lane Premier Pass has sold out for the first time.
As November 25 is the Monday before Thanksgiving, crowds at Walt Disney World are expected to be high. With many schools out that week, more guests could opt to skip the line and splurge for the Premier Pass.

Crowds
It should be noted that the Magic Kingdom Lightning Lane Premier Pass price on November 25 was $379, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios Premier Pass price was $309. Both prices fall within the high end of the Lightning Lane Premier Pass price spectrum, making the sell-outs even more notable.
More Sellouts on the Horizon?
As we head into the busy holiday season and more guests become familiar with the benefits of the Lightning Lane Premier Pass, we will likely see more sellouts.
