New Clip Teased for Doctor Who Christmas Special, “Joy to the World”
Alright, Whovians, the countdown to Christmas is on!
A brand-new clip of the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas episode has been teased this weekend, and it’s had us going right back to Disney+ to re-watch the series so far. Want to check it out? Keep reading!

“Joy to the World”
For many families, Christmas Day evening means one thing and one thing only: gathering around the telly to watch the latest Doctor Who Christmas episode. It’s definitely an annual tradition in many households, and now – thanks to the recent addition of the long-running BBC series on Disney+ – more and more people are able to enjoy the show as it premieres on December 25th!

So, since the latest series of the show concluded earlier this summer, we’ve all been eagerly awaiting this highly-anticipated Christmas Day episode. After all, the show is something of a holiday tradition at this point!
This weekend, as part of the BBC’s annual Children In Need fundraiser, a brand-new teaser preview was aired, giving us our first look at Ncuti Gatwa returning as the fifteenth Doctor, along with some all-new friends and festive capers!

Entitled “Joy to the World”, this Christmas episode will also feature Bridgerton and Derry Girls actress Nicola Coughlan in a starring guest role as Joy, and has has been written by fan-favorite Who writer and showrunner Steven Moffat.

While exact timings are yet to be revealed, the episode will premiere on the BBC on December 25th, with a Disney+ and iPlayer release very shortly afterwards. As usual with Doctor Who, the episode’s plot and cast have been kept very secretive, so we’ll have to eagerly wait until Christmas to see what’s in-store for the TARDIS. We can’t wait!

There’s no denying that, ever since the long-running BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who landed on Disney+ last year, a whole new generation of fans have been captivated by the show. The TARDIS even landed at Disney Springs back in May!
