Disney Honors Magic Makers as Godparents of the New Disney Treasure

Disney Cruise Line has made an exciting announcement today! The company shared that The Walt Disney Company’s entire global family of cast, crew, Imagineers, and employees will be the honorary godparents of the Disney Treasure.

This heartfelt role honors the 200,000-plus “doers and dreamers” who work tirelessly to bring Disney magic to life for families worldwide.

Cast Members at the Core

Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, shared the importance of this choice, stating:

At the core of everything we do at Disney are the dedicated Cast Members and employees who create the magic that brings joy to millions.

That’s why we are proud to honor all Disney employees as the godparents of the Disney Treasure. This is our way of paying tribute to the dreamers and doers who continue to tell our stories in the most compelling and innovative ways.

Recognizing Disney’s employees as godparents of the Disney Treasure is a symbolic way of celebrating the innovation, creativity, and joy they bring to the Disney experience.

This unique godparent designation continues a tradition for Disney Cruise Line.

In 2022, Make-A-Wish children were honored as the godchildren of the Disney Wish, the sister ship to the Disney Treasure.

The Disney Treasure sets sail this December and promises an unforgettable journey steeped in Disney storytelling.

The ship will feature a Broadway-style retelling of Moana, immersive dining inspired by Pixar’s Coco and Marvel heroes, and imaginative kids’ clubs. Exciting new lounges will also draw inspiration from Disney Parks’ best attractions.
